"Images are crystal sharp right from wide open, and the close focus ability is amazing and adds to its versatility. Focus is pretty fast for a screw drive macro, although I occassionally find it useful to spin the quick-shift focus to help it along. Color and contrast are great, and it handles tricky lighting situations well. Flare is pretty much non-existant, even shooting into the sun. The built in lens hood is a nice touch."

"Stellar performer. Very sharp, and works well with in-body stabilisation, which is more noticable/effective at this focal length. Suprisingly good bokeh! This has now become my default lens bushwalking, with a shorter macro and wide prime in the bag. Very versatile thanks to close minimum focus distance. Not as big as imagined. About as heavy as expected (not light, but probably good for this class of lens). Overall GREAT and well worth the investment."
