"I have had this lens for only a few weeks, but it's definitely become my primary lens for my D90. I really like the weight and size."

"Definitely a great and excellent upgrade from my kit lens. Definitely very happy with the overall quality with landscape or portrait photos."

"The most serious problem is that it sometimes refuses to focus - I have to turn the camera off and on and sometimes even unmount and mount the lens again."

"This lens is compatible with APS-H cameras such as the Nikon D600." 1. The Nikon D600 does not exist (except as a rumour). 2. APS-H is a Canon standard never used by Nikon.

yes it works, but there's another tamron like this, without motor, and purchased d5100 didn't like him. gave back, bought d7000, now they like each other :)

Just wanted to add that I'm using this lens on my  d5100, the lens works
on the d5100 with no problem. Very happy with this lens.

this lens does in deed have a built in motor. I have the lens, I have no complaints
with it. 5 star lens!

Also, I am now confused as the B&H link above to buy this lens says "Built in motor".

Hi, I've read in places that this lens has a built in motor. Any idea on how I would be able to differentiate the motor less version with the one that has the built in motor? I have a D5100 and if this does not autofocus on it, it would be a real bad thing.

Thanks
