Sony SLT's have compatibility issues unlike 3 digit Alpha's. You need to contact your regional Sigma agent to have the lens re-chipped/re-calibrated which should be FOC as it was an advisory by Sigma Japan. Sony SLT issues are noted on the Dyxum website for affected lenses, so this is old news and as you'll see, the lens is listed:

Autofocus of this lens does not work on my Sony a99. No problem with AF on my a580. Also perfect AF with my other lenses (e.g. a99/Sigma 24-70 EX DG HSM) . Anyone with the same problem, or even better, a solution?
