Bought this lens for a trip up the West Coast...started in SF, through Redwoods, Crater Lake, Oregon Coast, Mt. St. Helens, and Seattle. I ended up taking 99% of my pictures with this lens!! It focuses quickly throughout the zoom range and gave me fantastic images. There are some aberrations at the extremes but they are well within most people's tolerance...especially given that you don't have to change lenses. If it is really undesired for a specific photo...post processing can correct most of it.

This was a terrific "walking around" lens that when paired with my BlackRapid strap allowed me to take pictures in just about any situation without altering the "flow" of the vacation! If you're looking for an all-purpose type on a reasonable budget (I paid $350 after rebate)...this should definitely be in the conversation.

Is this lens really compatible with all full frame Nikon cameras?
