"I use this lens for birding and it is sharp wide open at f/4 and equally as sharp with a 1.4 TC attached which changes the max aperture to 5.6. An amazing lens. A must have for sports and wildlife."

"Very impressed with this lens. A little heavy first initial use but once your acclimated to it, it's very easy to photograph with. Have taken some great photographs of birds in flight. Add a 2x Teleconverter on it and it becomes a 600mm lens."

"The tripod collar is the only thing I would change. It is a little clunky and not as good of support as I'd had hoped. Other than that what a beautiful fast-focusing lens!!"
