"Purchased this lens almost as soon as it came out and it is an improvement over my 17-35. I do not miss the one stop while on the tripod. The quality is excellent so I do not feel as though I have really lost anything there either."

"Very pleased with low light and macro-ish capability, as well as high-contrast backlit subjects."

"nice & sharp, good close focusing. distortion at 16mm is pretty bad, but correctable in post. Decent feel/weight. A better every day lens than the 14-24mm. f/4 is unfortunate."
