"This is a fantastic lens... but I wish I had bought the 50mm. I hoped the 85 would preform a little better in REALLY low light, but I don't think it was cut out for that. With a flash - this would be great."

this 85 f1.8d along with photoshop is a dream the truth is: we need photoshop with all lenes, not every photo is par ,need i say more,thankyou.

This is a very useful lens for people and general shooting on both DX and FX. It could be just a little closer focusing for flower pics but for the price you cannot beat it. The 62mm filter size is strange. You have to try it to see for yourself what it will do. It is not an "exotic" but it is very useful and I am getting another one.
