"Great price for a relatively powerful lens. Internal stabilization is a must- works wonders!"

"Perfect lens for hand held shooting. Image Stabilizer makes it the perfect choice for shooting at slow shutter speeds."

"Lens is very slow on the focusing... I have been very disappointed with the focusing performance. it feels very cheap, and when you are zooming in and out it feels like the plastic is rubbing."

What are the differences between "EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS" and "EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II" ?

I've gotten amazing shots with this 55-250mm on my 550d - or should I say 88 - 400mm. :) The IS pushes it well above its category. I was going shot for shot next to the 70-200mm 2.8L IS and aside from certain colours, the clarity was on par for both lenses.

And this thing is small! I can fit it into my little bag with two primes. How many awesome telephoto lenses can you call portable? Bring it anywhere - you may never know when you'll use it next.
